What is an Identifier

Each emission record requires an identifer (also known as a unique identifer).

This is to identify each record in the carbon calculator and helps you ensure that you're not double counting emissions.

A good example of this in action would be with flights, here it would be prudent to use the flight reference as the identifier, as each flight has a unique identifier and if two records have the same one then you will know that it has accidentally been entered twice.

Identifiers can be whatever works for your production, but we advise that you use a standard approach to all records of the same type.
